Memories:

The week before Labor day, Annie and I drove out to Long Island to have Beans bred. As we were driving, we called back to the University to see what results they got from the tests on Beans. When we were in Pennsylvania, we found out that Beans wouldn’t be breedable for another 4-5 days and so we visited Lynne Kuczynski. After a couple days there, we headed to Long Island and stayed with Matt and Gene. We got 2 breedings and then headed home. I

 

Beans delivered fairly easily, but then she got sick and I had to feed most of the puppies for a while. The smallest puppy was Sugar and Mom would carry her around under her shirt to keep her warm.

 

I have no idea what a wonderful litter this would actually be until much later.
