Madchen was to be my second cocker spaniel. I had looked around and thought she would be my first show dog. That is what I told the breeder when I asked about her. It is very hard to purchase and show puppy if you haven’t shown a dog before.
Unfortunately, she was definitely not show dog material and it was very disappointing. I finally went to the dog show, found the breeder and asked her excitedly when I would be able to show my dog. She told me then that she really wasn’t show quality and I started right away working on finding myself a new show puppy.
A friend from canoe trips was staying with me at the house and she had a black lab so Madchen and the lab played together all the time.
