Memories:
I purchased my 1st dog, a cocker spaniel. Since I couldn’t afford a purebred puppy, I found a cocker spaniel in the paper that some people were selling because they didn’t want to keep her anymore. They had purchased her and her brother because they were so cute, but the cocker coats were too much for them to take care of.

The dogs were living in the garage and were a mess. We took her home with us and found that she was covered with fleas (which we didn’t know as we cuddled her all the way home). We also found out that she was pregnant – by her brother!

She delivered one evening when I was at work and the only one home was my Dad. He never let me forget that he played midwife to my 1st litter.

We lost 2 puppies before the same friend came to our rescue. Mom and I stayed up all night force feeding the puppies and the rest of them survived.
